Palestinian Foreign Ministry calls for international pressure on the occupation to release the prisoner Abu Hamid

Occupied Al-Quds, (ST) – The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the international community to pressure the Israeli occupation authorities to release the prisoner, Nasser Abu Hamid, who suffers from cancer.

In a statement on Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the occupation authorities’ refusal to release Abu Hamid in flagrant violation of international law, the Geneva Conventions, and human rights principles. “This action completely disregards humanitarian and international appeals and demands for his release so that he could complete his treatment”, the ministry added.

The Palestinian Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Commission indicated that Abu Hamid’s health is rapidly deteriorating. He suffers from severe pneumonia and is losing weight .He also has  cancer, and he can only breathe through an oxygen tube. The ministry warned of the possibility of the death of Hamid at any moment as a result of the occupation authorities’ refusal to release him or provide him with the necessary treatment.
