Syrian accordion player Wissam El Shaer presents his experience in a workshop in Algeria

Algiers  (ST): In the midst of a great turnout by students of all musical instruments in the orchestra of the Algerian Institute of Music, Syrian musician and accordionist Wissam El Shaer presented his academic experience to them during a special workshop, which was held on the sidelines of the 12th International Symphony Festival in Algiers.
In a statement, Al-Shaer explained that the workshop included introducing the accordion and its relationship to Western music and Arabic music, reviewing several melodies and various styles of music.
He pointed out that the holding of the specialized workshop on the sidelines of the festival came in coordination with the leader of the Syrian National Symphony Orchestra, Maestro Misak and Baghboudrian, and the festival administration.
During the evening, al-Shaer participated with a number of members of the Syrian National Symphony Orchestra and students from the Higher Institute of Music. He performed a solo piece on the accordion.
