Cairo (ST): The activities of the eighth session of the Zayed Book Fair was concluded in Egypt, in which Syria was the guest of honor.
The closing ceremony included the participation of the Syrian Abu Shaar and Saif al-Khawali bands, in the presence of the head of the Syrian diplomatic mission to Egypt, Ambassador Dr. Bassam Darwish, and a number of Egyptian officials, writers, intellectuals and representatives of the participating delegations.
In an exclusive statement to news reporter, the Chairman of the Conferences and Exhibitions Committee at the Zayed Foundation for Creativity and supervisor of the exhibition, Adel Al-Masry, confirmed that this session witnessed a great demand for Syrian publications that presented a bright picture of the distinguished cultural activity in Syria, in addition to seminars and other activities on the sidelines of the exhibition.
Al-Masry pointed out that Syria is the first guest of honor for the exhibition, and it was welcomed by all the participants, referring to the effective Syrian participation that enriched the exhibition and its activities.
In turn, Ambassador Darwish said in a similar statement: Syria’s participation in the Zayed Book Fair as a guest of honor was distinguished by the role of the participating teams and the events that were held on the sidelines of the exhibition, including a political cultural symposium, artistic evenings, and an exhibition of plastic art by pioneering Syrian women artists.
