A message of love and peace in a musical evening by the Kremlin Orchestra at the Damascus Opera Theater
Damascus (ST): A message of love and peace presented by the Russian people to Syria through a musical evening performed by the Kremlin Philharmonic with the participation of artists from Russia, set up by the Ministry of Culture in cooperation with the Russian Presidential Affairs Department on the opera stage at Dar al-Assad for Culture and Arts.
The evening opened with the screening of the film (On the Path of the Syrian Wise Men) directed by Aksana Makeeva, which talks about the destruction inflicted on the Syrian archaeological sites in Palmyra, Sednaya, Maaloula, Aleppo, and Homs, and what Syrian and Russian archaeologists have done to restore them and to preserve the ancient civilizational and cultural heritage, which constitutes the country’s identity and its springboard to the world.
Through documentary photos of many important Syrian antiquities, and through the lips of stakeholders from Syria, and those interested in Russia, the film emphasized the importance of drawing attention to the possibility of restoring the Arc de Triumph in Palmyra, restoring images and sacred contents in churches and monasteries to what they were before terrorism, and preserving Syrian heritage and identity.
A number of Russian songs by the (Grandma’s Band) were presented to delight the audience of the opera, in addition to several songs by a number of famous singers in Russia, their tunes were sung to bring joy and happiness to the audience with the beautiful orchestral music.
In a statement, Minister of Culture Dr. Lubana Mushawah confirmed that the concert is a message of love, and peace and gift from the Russian people to the Syrian people, and a token of friendship and cooperation between the two countries in the cultural and artistic field.
