Two agreements and various meetings within the third day of the fifth Syrian-Russian joint meeting
For the third day, the activities and meetings of the fifth Syrian-Russian joint meeting to follow up on the international conference on the return of Syrian refugees and displaced persons continued at the Conferences Palace in Damascus on October 19th.
Damascus University and the Presidential Library of the Russian Federation signed an agreement to develop scientific, research and academic cooperation, and to organize conferences, seminars and joint cultural and educational events.
The Rector of Damascus University, Dr. Muhammad Osama Al-Jabban, confirmed that the signing of the agreement will have a major role in strengthening scientific, research and academic cooperation.
The Syria Trust for Development, the General Directorate of Antiquities and Museums and the Institute for the History of Material Culture at the Russian Academy of Sciences also signed an agreement to start the second phase of a project to restore the Arch of Triumph in Palmyra.
In a statement to reporters, the Minister of Culture, Dr. LubanaMushawah, indicated that cooperation between Syria and Russia is very close, especially in the cultural and scientific fields.
Mashouh confirmed that the first phase of surveying, stone lifting, plans and three-dimensional design of the Arc de Triomphe has been completed.
Executive Director of the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library of the Russian Federation U. S.Nosov indicated in a speech that the exhibition includes photographs, ancient engravings, maps, illustrations for books, postcards from the electronic collection of the Presidential Library, photographs of the Historic Center of Saint Petersburg, the Moscow Kremlin, and Red Square.
In a similar speech, the Head of the Logistics Support Department of the Presidential Affairs Department of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Lonkov, said during the presentation of the exhibition to the Ministry of Culture that all materials for this exhibition were taken from the archives of the Presidential Library of the Russian Federation, which includes 20 historical sites included in the UNESCO list and 11 natural sites.
In turn, the Special Envoy of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Syria, Alexander Lavrentiev, stressed that the Russian-Syrian friendly relations were built years ago on hard work, and we are heading towards strengthening aspects of cooperation between the two countries in various fields.
In addition, the Central Organization for Financial Supervision in Syria discussed with the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation ways to implement the work program, which provides for holding periodic meetings to exchange experiences.
Director of Public Relations, Training and Rehabilitation at the Central Organization for Financial Supervision, Taghreed Alam, confirmed that the two sides belong to the Organization, the World Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI).
