Russian delegation distribute humanitarian and food supplies to workers in hospital in Homs

HOMS, Oct.17, (ST)- Within the framework of the work of the 5th Syrian-Russian joint meeting to follow-up on the International Conference on the return of Syrian refugees and displaced people, held at the Conferences Palace in Damascus, a Russian delegation distributed humanitarian and food supplies to workers in the ” Al-Nahda Al-Arabiya Association” hospital in Homs.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the hospital, Muhammad Khaddour, referred to the heroic and humanitarian stances of Russia  towards Syria in its war against terrorism, and its work on consolidating security and stability, pointing out that this aid is positively reflected on the association’s work and the medical, nursing and humanitarian services it provides to the needy since 1960 and until today.

For his part,  Bashar Yassin, director of the hospital said that the hospital receives about 400 patients daily, noting that contacts have been made with Russian friends to provide the hospital with some equipment for the care department, which is currently being built in order to serve the various social segments in the governorate.

While the head of the Russian delegation Pavel Konovalov, indicated that some food and supplies and a generator were collected by ordinary Russian people and presented on behalf of the Russian people to the Syrian people with the aim of conveying a message to the world that Russia is still providing all forms of material support despite the war they are waging and with the aim of establishing security and peace.

In another development, Al-Baath University in Homs honored the 22 winners in the International Multidisciplinary Olympiad for School Students (Most), and the International Multidisciplinary Olympiad for Students and Graduates of Higher Education Institutions (My Career), which was held by Moscow State University (Stankin) last year.

Muslim Al-Abdullah, Director of the Syrian-Russian Center at Al-Baath University, said the Olympiad is an opportunity to strengthen students’ Russian language and develop their knowledge.
