Buthaina Shaaban, Chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, said in a speech: “At a time when the captive movement in the prisons of the occupation represents the best forms of resistance and faith in the land, and the heroic Palestinian people are carrying out a brave uprising against a hateful, racist settler occupation, today we celebrate the first anniversary of the martyrdom of the liberated captive, the martyr Medhat Al-Saleh. Let us share together  his stories of our forefathers and the pride they had , which lit up like a torch  from inside the unjust and dark Israeli prisons.”
Dr. Shaaban added: “At this time when the nation is suffering from a setback after preoccupation with the main Arab countries with wars planned and financed by their enemies, we resort to the memory that strengthens our  beliefs in the land and the necessity to defend it, no matter what the costs are.

Yaser Al-Saleh, brother of the martyr Medhat Al-Saleh, said that “martyrs are witnesses to the occupation’s crimes and to our legitimate rights,” stressing that the martyrdom of his brother makes his family feel proud as he was so brave and loyal to Golan, Palestine and the Arab nation.
