SANA receives the award for best news after winning the first rank in the Mediterranean Federation Union Competition

On October 12th, Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) received the Best News Award after coming  first place, and for the second time in the Federation of Mediterranean News Agencies “AMAN” competition.

SANA achieved  the best news and best picture, ahead of European and Arab countries, including France, Spain, Italy, Morocco, Algeria, Lebanon and Egypt.

The Union of Mediterranean News Agencies “Aman” officially announced the first winners in the competition conducted by the union for the best news and the best picture, where SANA, won first place, and for the second time for the best news in this competition.

Muhammad Imad Al-Daghli from SANA received a certificate of first place for his item  , “Syrians were the first to invent seals in the world,” while photographer Miguel Calerio from the Spanish News Agency won the award for the best picture.

The Secretary-General of the Union of Mediterranean News Agencies “Aman” George Benintex noted the victory of our colleague Muhammad Imad Al-Daghli from SANA was for the second time.This is the first time that the same journalist wins the award twice since the establishment of “Aman” in 1991.

Al-Daghli expressed his great pleasure with the award he received for the second time, stressing that SANA’s achievement as a Syrian media institution ranking  first in preparing and drafting news at the level of the Mediterranean countries, is just a reflection of what Syria has achieved, despite the terrorist war and siege it is facing.

He pointed out that he is carrying out a cultural project, which he started working on with the Syrian antiquity’s expert in the General Directorate of Antiquities and Museums, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Sayed, since 2012, and is concerned with the Syrian and international cultural heritage.

It is noteworthy that  colleague Al-Daghli won the “Aman” award for the first time in 2015 for his item, “the gods of love and beauty, a prominent station in the history of Syrian plastic art.”
