Ambassador Darwish: Syria has continued its cultural awareness message despite the terrorist war against it
With the participation of Syria, the activities of the Zayed Book Fair were launched on October 12thin the eighth session of the Zayed Book Fair under the slogan “Culture, Life”.
During the opening ceremony, Ambassador Dr. Bassam Darwish, head of the Syrian diplomatic mission to Egypt, said: “During the exhibition, Syria will offer a variety of cultural and artistic events.’
Darwish pointed out that Syria continued its tasks and cultural awareness, despite the unjust war against it, pointing to its participation in the Cairo International Book Fair.
Abdullah Al -Junaid, head of the National Union branch of Syrian students in Egypt, said: “In this exhibition in which Syria represents a guest of honor, the Syrian student holds the banner of knowledge to represent our dear homeland.”
For his part, Eng. Ahmed Mustafa, head of the Sheikh Zayed City Administration, said: “Syria has a large global presence in many fields, and the exhibition is honored to have Syria as a guest of honor for it is a country that we cherish and have deep relations with .”
In turn, Saeed Abdo, President of the Egyptian Publishers Union, expressed his welcome in the Syrian participation of this new session of the Zayed Book Fair.
The exhibition will be held from October 12 – 24 with the participation of 85 publishing houses, and organized by the Zayed Foundation for Creativity and Development.
