DAMASCUS, (ST) – The U-16 national soccer team have made it through to the 2014 AFC U-16 Championship finals after finishing second in group B .
The Asian Football Confederation (AFC )has informed the Syrian team that they were selected among the top five teams to ranks second in the qualifiers which were concluded on Sunday.
It is to be noted that Hong Kong, South Korea, China, Kuwait, Uzbekistan, Nepal, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Oman, Australia, Malaysia, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Japan and Thailandhave qualified for the finals.
The Syrian team came as Group B runners-up with 5 points after a 4-4 tie with Jordan, a 3-0 win against Afghanistan, and a 0-0 tie with Saudi Arabia.
