Syria Wins Two Prizes at the Alexandria Film Festival

Damascus (ST) –  Syrian cinema won two prizes in the Alexandria Film Festival in its 38th session,  which concluded its activities on Monday’s evening.

The winning films produced by the General Film Organization were distributed through the two films “A Tale in Damascus” and “The Amusement Park”. In the Arab film competition, “Noor Al Sharif,” actress Gianna Enid won the Best Actress Award for her role in the movie “A Tale in Damascus,” directed by Ahmed Ibrahim Ahmed.

In the Short Narration Film Competition,” Amusement Park” won the Golden Prize for young director Nour Khair Al-Anam.

It is noteworthy that Syria participated through five films produced by the General Film Organization within the festival, where the film “A Tale in Damascus” competed in the official and Arab competitions for the feature film, which includes 14 films from 14 countries.

The two feature films “Days of Lead” directed by Ayman Zidan and “Al-Hakim” directed by Basil Al-Khatib also participated in the Arab Film Competition.
