G.F.T.U, PLA issue statements on the 49th anniversary of October Liberation War

DAMASCUS, OCT.6, (ST)- The General Federation of Syrian Trade Unions has said that during the October war of liberation , which was led by the late President Hafez Al-Assad, the Syrian Arab Army depicted epics of heroism and achieved victory over the Zionist enemy and imposed new deterrence equations in the region and the world.

The Union indicated in a statement published by the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) on the occasion of the forty-ninth anniversary of the war, that this anniversary is passing today as Syria is regaining the glories of the October War of Liberation , and the victory over the most dangerous forces of evil, that are led by American imperialism and Zionism.

The statement referred to the steadfastness of Syrian workers who were partners in the war through defending their factories, stressing that our workers today are more determined to continue sincere work, and make great efforts in all fields to break the siege and foil starvation schemes, and to make more achievements, as well as rebuilding modern Syria under the leadership of President Bashar Al-Assad.

On the same occasion, the Chief of Staff of the Palestine Liberation Army (PLA) said that the epic of the October War of Liberation and its victories and achievements constituted a turning point in the history of the Arab-Zionist conflict.

“We will remain adherent to the honorable trench of resistance that unites us with the valiant Syrian Arab Army, until the liberation of occupied lands and the establishment of the independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital,” the PLA said in a statement issued yesterday.
