Despair and surrender can never penetrate brave  and strong willed persons. The wounded personnel of the Syrian Arab Army are best examples of strong determination and defiance despite all the difficulties they face .

Jaafar Hassan is a wounded soldier  from the village of Tarkeb in the countryside of Safita in Tartous province who was discharged from military service because of his injury during battles with terrorist.

From his faith  in himself and his abilities and with a determination the wounded solider strongly insisted to continue to be active in society and managed to set up a productive project thanks to the support provided by “ Jareeh Watan” ( the homeland wounded) program.

About his injury the 34-year-old wounded Hassan told SANA that he was injured during the Syrian Army’s battles against terrorist organizations in Al-Qalamoun region, pointing out that the injury caused  the amputation and led  to 84% physical disability.

He noted the support of his family, friends and the people of the village which helped him to cope with the injury, stressing the key role of “ Jareeh Watan” project in providing job opportunities to a number of other discharged wounded soldiers.

With hope and strong will to reintegrate into society  Hassan managed to launch  a small project in protected agriculture within greenhouses, where he started with one house, and was able to diversify the types of crops, and developed his project to become ten houses, while adhering to the information and assistance provided by the extension units, which brought him a good income.

The wounded soldier’s family noted the strong will of Jaafar, and his determination to live and work  which helped him to  restore his health
