ACSAD, General Corporation of Grain sign agreement on technical and scientific cooperation  

DAMASCUS COUNTRYSIDE, Oct.3, (ST)- The Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands (ACSAD) and the General Corporation for Trade, Storage and Processing of Grains signed on Monday a technical and scientific cooperation agreement at the center’s headquarters.

The agreement, which was signed by ACSAD’s Director General, Nasreddin Al-Obeid, and General Director of Trade, Storage and Grain Processing, Abdul Latif Al-Amin, aims to enhance cooperation between the two parties, exchange experiences and contribute to developing natural and human resources in Syria.

It also aims to develop the use of grain technology and tributary technologies for scientific research, support sustainable development, exchange information and data in the field of classification and approval of grain varieties, and hold training courses.

According to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), the agreement provides for conducting studies and researches related to wheat and barley in terms of technological qualities and properties, modifying farming practices and methods, and benefiting from laboratories and equipment available to both parties to conduct analyzes on oxidized varieties of wheat and barley.

The agreement in addition includes exchanging data, experiences and specialists, participating in seminars, workshops and training courses held by both parties, and publishing scientific research in the Arab Journal of Arid Environments and scientific articles in the Journal of Agriculture and Water issued by ACSAD.
