Austria renews its dependence on Russian gas and denies considering the option of restricting its prices

Vienna (ST): Austria confirmed that it is still dependent on Russian gas supplies and is not considering the option of capping its price.

After arriving in Brussels to participate in an emergency meeting of the Council of the European Union, Austrian Energy and Environment Minister Leonor Gosler said, according to TASS: In recent days, we discussed a lot about the price ceiling for imported gas, and Austria, as before, depends today on imports of natural gas, especially Russian gas.

She added: Austria did not see in all the proposals a guarantee that if we adopt one of them, especially setting the price ceiling, our Russian partners will continue to supply gas to Europe in sufficient quantities if we no longer pay the required price.
