Russia confirms that the Israeli attacks on Syria and Lebanon inflame the situation in the region

On September 28th, Russia affirmed its rejection of the Israeli attacks on Syria and Lebanon, noting that these attacks threaten the countries of the region, and threaten to inflame the situation there.

“The arbitrary and illegal Israeli measures go beyond the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, to affect the neighboring Arab countries, by provoking numerous incidents that violate their sovereignty,” TASS news agency quoted Russia’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Dmitry Polyansky, as saying at a meeting of the UN Security Council.

Polyansky added: “We oppose such methods that create threats to other countries and threaten to inflame the situation in the region as a whole, pointing out that the international community must play its constructive role in ending the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and in alleviating severe social and economic problems in the occupied territories.”
