Wide Palestinian condemnations of the occupation’s aggression against Jenin

Occupied Al-Quds, (ST) – The Israeli occupation forces launched an aggression against the city of Jenin and its camp in the occupied West Bank, in an attempt to break the steadfastness of its people in confronting its crimes and practices.

The Israeli forces’ incursion killed four Palestinians and wounded 44 others, while most of the cities and towns of the West Bank went on strike to mourn the souls of the martyrs.

A demonstration took place in Ramallah, rejecting the crimes of the occupation, during which the participants chanted slogans, according to what was reported by Wafa Nes Agency.

The participants in the demonstrations condemned the baric aggression against Jenin camp and demanded the unity of the Palestinian ranks to confront the Israeli escalation, denouncing the international inaction regarding the crimes committed by the occupation.

The spokesman for the Palestinian presidency, Nabil Abu Rudeineh indicated that the occupation underestimates the lives of the Palestinian people as a result of the silence of the international community or its contentment with formal condemnation statements.

Abu Rudeineh called on the international community to translate the timid statements of condemnation into practical steps that oblige the occupation to stop its escalation and its continued violation of international law.

For his part, Palestinian Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh affirmed that the crime of the occupation in Jenin and the horrific crimes that preceded it require accountability before the International Criminal Court.

Shtayyeh called for providing international protection for the Palestinian people and supporting their legitimate rights to freedom and independence, ending the occupation and establishing their independent state with Al-Quds (Jerusalem) as its capital.

In turn, Palestinian government spokesman Ibrahim Melhem said that the aggression that took place in Jenin this morning and the previous incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque, and before that the field executions practiced by the occupation will not affect the resolve of the Palestinians, and their insistence on obtaining their rights and liberating their land.

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry considered that the occupation’s storming into Jenin and the accompanying crimes amounting to war crimes and crimes against humanity require an active international position to compel the occupation to stop this criminal escalation. It stressed the need to hold the occupation accountable and put an end to its impunity.
