Al-Jaafari to Professor Anderson: Syria has thwarted hostile Western plans

On September 21st, Bashar Al-Jaafari, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, received the Australian writer and professor Tim Anderson, founder of the “Hands Off Syria” group and a member of the “Friends of Syria” group, accompanied by a number of researchers and defenders of Syria.

Al-Ja’afari welcomed Professor Anderson and thanked him for his continuous courageous stances in clarifying the true picture of the war on Syria and revealing the dangerous conspiracy it is facing that threatens the security of the region and its geographical and demographic unity.

He spoke about Syria’s national and historical role and its permanent keenness to strengthen joint Arab action and achieve Arab solidarity in a way that serves the interests of the Arab peoples, and its principled positions in terms of preserving the unity of the Arab nation.

He pointed out that everything that happened in Syria since the first day of killing, destruction and theft of natural resources and underground wealth, their destruction of archaeological sites and the imposition of unilateral coercive economic measures, were all means to achieve their political ends.

He said that Syria is paying the price for its strong and influential historical role and its principled positions, but it has thwarted the hostile Western plans based on settling old and new accounts with Syria.

The meeting was attended by Warif Al-Halabi, Director of Information, Dr. Nizar Kabibo from the Office of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, and MazenAjjan from the Information Department.
