Syria affirms its national commitment to transforming education

New York, (ST) – The Syrian delegation participated in the Education Transformation Summit in New York, which was held on the sidelines of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly.Three days included international educational consultations, in which the Syrian delegation participated in this summit.

Syria’s participation came due to the invitation addressed to President Bashar Al-Assad to participate in the Summit on Transforming Education from the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres

The closing sessions of Directors’ Day were held yesterday in the United Nations General Assembly Hall after Syria presented its national commitment to move forward in transforming education in accordance with the global prizes adopted by the summit.

The opening session of the closing day included the importance of the Education Transformation Summit and the outcomes that the summit will conclude after the impetus that world directors gave to this summit, in addition to focusing on the inevitability of educational transformation and the future role of youth in that.

The last day’s sessions included a panel discussion entitled “Towards a Transformation in Education”.

The last day’s sessions also included also Five leaders’ roundtable sessions that covered themes such as : “Education in Crisis, A Partnership for Transformative Action for Learners, the Global Challenge to Address the Education Crisis, and Transforming Education to Transform the World.”

The Directors’ Day concluded yesterday evening with the presentation of the vision of the Secretary-General of the United Nations on strengthening educational transformation and moving forward.
