Honoring 58 families of media martyrs

In appreciation of the martyrs of the word who sacrificed their lives for the truth, the Ministry of Information, in cooperation with Mithqal Foundation in Damascus, honored the families of 58 martyrs from the media sector on September 19th

Minister of Information, Dr. Boutros Al-Hallaq, stressed in a speech during the honoring ceremony that the true martyrs of the media, the knights on the battlefields along with the men of the Syrian Arab Army, will remain firmly in our conscience

He said that communicating with their families is a great honor because they embody a shining example of strength, solidity and loyalty to the homeland. 

He indicated that honoring the families of the martyrs is to show appreciation  for their great sacrifice, pointing out that the growing culture of volunteer work in the business sector in Syria is due to their national affiliation and their keenness to fulfill their social responsibilities and their role in economic development.

In turn, the Chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Directors, Muhammad Al-Mithqal, explained that the honor comes within the framework of appreciation for the sons of the country and their sacrifices

He said that the Foundation has put the title “Hand in Hand with Syria is Better” as its slogan because the Syrians stand united in the rebuilding of their country. 

Assistant Minister of Information Ahmed Dawa noted the role of the Syrian media in documenting the truth of what happened during the terrorist war on Syria

Hayam Suleimanthe Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mithqal Foundation indicated the importance of honoring the martyrs of the word of truth who sacrificed their lives to show the true image and to keep the Syrian flag high

She noted that the Foundation is working on a set of programs in the health, educational and development fields and is continuing with effective community initiatives in various fields. 

The honoring ceremony was attended by the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Mohamed Seif El-Din, and a number of directors of media institutions
