President Al-Assad to Al-Mandhari: The unity of the regional health interest requires work and cooperation among the countries of the region to confront diseases

On September 19thPresident Bashar Al-Assad met with Dr. Ahmed Al-Mandhari, Director of the Eastern Mediterranean Region at the World Health Organization

The two sides discussed the active cooperation between the organization and the health sector institutions in Syria with the aim of improving the health response, whether in terms of combating epidemics and diseases or technical support with medical equipment and equipment. 

During the meetingPresident al-Assad said that the unity of the regional health interest requires work and cooperation among all countries in the region to confront diseases that spread and are transmitted from one country to another. 

In turn, Dr. Al-Mandhari expressed the organization’s appreciation for the support and facilities provided by Syria to the organization’s work in order to provide medical assistance to the Syrians on all Syrian territories

He noted that Syria has always provided many initiatives at the level of the World Health Organization in various health fields.
