Study: Europe cannot withstand next winter without Russian gas

Moscow (ST): A recent Russian study showed that Europe cannot withstand the coming winter and the whole of 2023 without Russian gas.
According to RIA Novosti, the study prepared by a group of Russian experts said, “The declared ambition to reduce Europe’s dependence on gas from Russia in 2022-2023 is impossible unless Europe stops many of its production sectors,” noting that despite the news about the fullness of European reservoirs, Europe is unable to overcome dependence on Russian gas.
It added that at the same time, in order to meet the demand for blue fuel until the end of 2022, the countries of this part of the world will need to maintain gas supplies from Russia or reduce its consumption by 7/12 billion cubic meters, which is possible only with the complete or partial closure of many gas stations and production sectors.
