Sabbagh: Syria has achieved all its entitlements within its specified constitutional dates

On September 18thPeople’s Assembly ( Parliament ) Speaker Hammouda Sabbagh affirmed that the local council elections are added to the series of elections that were completed in Syria on their specific constitutional dates, which indicates the stability of constitutional and political life. 

“This entitlement is important by all standards because it is a consolidation of the principle of decentralization in the management of administrative units during the next four years with the aim of providing services to citizens,” Sabbagh said in a statement to reporters after casting his vote in the electoral center of the Parliament. 

He added: “The Syrian people have said  their word. We are with stability and with living and with the constitutional and legislative life. We are with all the values ​​that we all believe in in light of this solid national unity of the Syrian people united in one heart and one hand.” 

Inam Ghoneim, head of the electoral center in the People’s Assembly, indicated that the center began receiving voters since 7:00 am after securing all the requirements of the electoral process, such as stationery and tables for recording the names and data of voters

She pointed out that holding the elections on time is a victory for Syria, adding to the record of victories it has achieved in confronting terrorism, and it is necessary to continue the work for rebuilding Syria

After casting his vote, People’s Assembly member Jamil Murad affirmed that the local administration council elections and other constitutional entitlements represent a complete activation and strengthening of the democratic situation

He pointed the importance of the local administration council elections because the people of each region in Syria elect their representatives from the people of their region to manage their affairs in an appropriate manner
