Local Administration Council Elections in Lattakia

A number of participants   in the local administration council elections in Lattakia  province stressed today the importance of participating in these elections as a constitutional entitlement that did not stop during the years of the terrorist war on Syria, despite the challenges and all that the Western circles planned to prevent the achievement of these entitlements.

Mr. Muhammad Da’oud Ali from Al-Jindiria village in the countryside of Lattakia stressed in a statement to the Syriatimes e-newspaper that “The role of local councils is very important in the phase of reconstruction which includes development and moving the country to a better stage to embody the slogan of “ hope through work” and integration with the local to provide services, simplifying procedures and requirements in decision-making and tracking their implementation.

He affirmed that the   local administration council elections are a message to all the enemies of Syria which affirms the Syrian people’s adherence to constitutional entitlements despite the terrorist war, adding that the participation in the elections means the adherence to the national rights and principles”.

Mr. Ali expressed his hope that the successful candidates in the next stage will play an active role in the development process.

In turn , the candidate Mrs. Roudaina Rayya , who is the headmaster of Al-Jndiria High School, told Syriatimes“The massive participation in the local administration council elections is an essential part of the democratic expression of the people’s desires and their responsibility for Syria’s present and future as well as they are the citizen’s direct link with the state and it is the government’s executive tool for uplifting society.

She expressed her pride in participating in the elections as a Syrian woman who has proven throughout history the strength of her personality and her distinguished challenge of all difficulties in order to consolidate her presence in society and play an effective role in all fields, especially the political one.

The supervisor of one of the electoral centers in the governorate Amjad Anees Ibrahim said in his statement to the Syriatimes “The approved polling centers in the province began on Sunday to receive citizens who were willing to vote and choose their representatives in the elections for members of local administration councils.

He pointed out that  the massive participation in the local administration council elections is an essential part of the democratic expression of the people’s desires and their responsibility for Syria’s present and future.

Mr. Ibrahim added the local administartions elections are held every four years with a high responsibility to select candidates with scientific competence and good experience who work to serve citizens, whether in the economic, agricultural, social, educational and health sectors and who are able to work in the community and serve their regions and improve the service reality.
