On September 18th, the electoral centers in all governorates began receiving citizens to vote and choose their representatives in the elections for members of local administration councils.
The number of polling centers reached 7,348, an increase of 1,200 polling centers over the 2018 elections, distributed across all cities and towns to ensure that voters can easily reach the polling stations.
59,498 candidates are competing for 19,086 seats in the local administrative council elections.
It is noteworthy that in Syria there are 1,470 administrative units distributed over 14 governorates, 158 cities, 572 towns and 726 municipalities.
The elections begin at 7 in the morning and end at 7 in the evening, and the Supreme Judicial Committee may extend the election period for a period of five hours at most, and this depends on the participation of voters.
