Members of the Criminal Security Branch in Tartous arrest a group of people promoting the sale of antiquities and artifacts

Tartous, (ST) – Members of the Security Branch in Tartous arrested a group of people who were promoting the sale of antiquities and artifacts.

Lieutenant-Colonel Rami Youssef from the Criminal Security Branch in Tartous said in a special statement that after receiving information that two people were promoting the sale of antiquities and artifacts, and after coordination, they were arrested and the pieces they had in their possession were confiscated. He added that by interrogating them, they confessed that they, together with other people, had traded antiquities, where the necessary ambush was set up for them, and they were arrested, and they were six. “Several antiquities were confiscated”, he said.

Youssef pointed out that after examining the pieces that were confiscated from these people by the competent committee of the Directorate of Antiquities and Museums, it turned out that they were antiquities, and those arrested would be duly presented to the judiciary.
