A stand in Hebron in support of the prisoner with cancer, Nasser Abu Hamid

Dozens of Palestinians staged a sit-in today in the city of Hebron in the West Bank and demanded the international community to take urgent action to stop the continuous crimes of the Israeli occupation against the prisoners and to release them, especially the cancer-stricken prisoner Nasser Abu Hamid.
Wafa Agency stated that the participants in the vigil organized by the Palestinian national forces in cooperation with the Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Authority and the Prisoners’ Club in Al-Arroub camp north of Hebron raised the Palestinian flag and pictures in support of the prisoners, especially the sick, and banners condemning the crimes of the occupation and the continued detention of the bodies of a number of martyrs.
The participants stressed the importance of immediate action to save Abu Hamid’s life, which is now in a critical and dangerous stage amid dubious international silence, where the prisoners are suffering exceptional and difficult conditions under the weight of continued violations, brutal practices and torture against them.
The participants pointed out that there are 600 sick prisoners inside the occupation prisons, including 200 suffering from chronic diseases and 23 suffering from cancerous tumors. The occupation also holds the bodies of 356 martyrs, most of them from the West Bank.
The cities of the West Bank and the Palestinian territories occupied in 1948 witness daily solidarity vigils in support of the Palestinian prisoners inside the occupation prisons.
