Joint Iraqi Forces Launch a Large-Scale Security Operation in Nineveh

Baghdad (ST) – On Tuesday, the joint Iraqi forces announced the launch of a large-scale security operation in Nineveh governorate, north of the country, to hunt down the remnants of ISIS terrorists.

Iraqi News Agency (INA) quoted a statement of the Popular Mobilization Authority as saying that: “Nineveh Operation Command of the Mobilization launched today, in cooperation with the army and the federal police, a wide security operation in Badush district and Hadra Island in the city of Mosul.”

The statement pointed out that the operation was launched from two axes, with the aim of pursuing the remnants of the terrorist organization ISIS and securing the region.
