Al-Miqdad inaugurates a consular office at the Citizen Service Center in the Damascus Governorate building

On September 11th, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Faisal Al-Miqdad, inaugurated the consular office at the Citizen Service Center in the Damascus Governorate building.

In a statement to reporters, Minister Al-Miqdad confirmed that the opening of the consular office in Damascus will contribute to saving effort and time for citizens

He indicated that the ministry seeks, in cooperation with Damascus Governorate, to provide the best services through it. 

He pointed out that the office’s work mechanism depends on reducing the employee’s interaction with the citizens as much as possible and conducting the certification processes for all the documents that the citizen needs in the fastest time and the least time and cost

He expressed his confidence that the services provided will create a comfortable environment for completing the transactions at the required speed. 

The Minister of Foreign Affairs indicated that the terrorist war hindered the development process in providing services to citizens in many sectors. 

The Governor of Damascus, Engineer Muhammad Tariq Krishati, indicated that the opening of the consular office linked to 11 citizen service centers distributed within the governorate of Damascus comes within the framework of meeting citizens’ needs for document authentication and other services

The Director of Citizen Service Centers in Damascus Governorate, Eng. Louay Alloush, pointed out that the launch of the document authentication service began in 2016 and there are currently 16 centers, 11 of which provide consular services, and work is underway for all centers to provide these services.

Alloush expected that the number of papers and documents certified per day would reach 1,500 documents after the start of work at the consular office.

To that, a number of citizens noted this step, which facilitates a lot of effort and time.
