At least four civilians were killed and fires erupted in protected forests due to the bombing of the Nikolaev region by the Ukrainian regime forces, according to the Emergency Situations Directorate in the Kherson Province.
The RIA Novosti news agency quoted a source in the directorate as saying today that at least four civilians were killed and a fire broke out in 1,000 hectares of forests in the Kinburn Spit Reserve in Nikolaev Province due to the bombing of the Ukrainian forces.
The source pointed out that the reserve ecosystem was hit hard by the fires caused by the Ukrainian artillery shelling, which killed many civilians and destroyed thousands of hectares of forests amid the impossibility of extinguishing the fires due to the high risk of mine explosion.
It is noteworthy that the Kinburn Spit Reserve is a natural forest park in the Russian-controlled part of Nikolaev Province.
