Syrian Arab army finds conduits in Barzeh suburb, confiscates C-4 explosives in Homs
PROVINCES,(ST)_Big number of foreign-backed terrorists has been reportedly killed in 47 areas in five provinces in the wake of raiding their hideouts and groupings by the armed forces.
Around 10 areas in northern and western Damascus country witnessed today crack down operations against the terrorists who were inflicted heavy losses there, according to the official news agency (SANA).
The areas include – Qabon, Jobar, Harasta, Doma, surrounding of Shebaa and Htetet alTerkman, Zabadani’s eastern mountains, Bludan, Wadi Barada, Yabroud, and Darayya.
As many as 6 terrorists belonging to the so- called ‘Islam’ brigade were crushed in Alya farms in Doma area, an official source said, noting that most of the terrorists killed in Zabadani’s eastern mountains and Bludan were of foreign nationalities.
On the other hand, the armed forces foiled a suicide bomber’s attempt to blast an explosives-laden car in the industrial area in al-Nabk (around 80 km to the north of Damascus) and found smuggling conduits in Barzeh suburb (just 3km to the north of Damascus) and further torpedoed a conduit in Der Ezzour province.
The conduits were used by terrorists as shuttles to store weaponry and ammunitions.
Armed confrontations
As for developments in central Homs province, an official source said: “competent authorities seized- at the entry of Homs city- a quantity of C-4, captagon pills, 2 nocturnal binoculars and munitions which were hidden inside a Suzuki-model car.”
It added that the armed forces eliminated 9 terrorists in al-Ghajar town outside al-Rastan area and destroyed a (23mm) Anti-Aircraft Machine Gun (AAMG) and a hideout of terrorists in al-Za’afarani town.
In this context, a military source confirmed that 5 hideouts of terrorist ringleaders were obliterated in the quarters of al-Qarabis and al-Qosor. All terrorists inside were either killed or injured.
It cited that a clash flared up between an army unit and terrorists trying to infiltrate into homes of al-Nabhan and al-Rashed from al-Ghanto town.
Another clash was raged in the chicken market in Joret al-Shayah quarter amid reports of warding off terrorists’ attack on Kafrnan ton outside al-Rastan and wiping out terrorist groupings in towns of al-Ghasbeyeh, al-Dar al-Kabira, Kesin and Taldo.
Further terrorist groupings were shelled in towns of Tal Salmo and Serjeh in Idlib province.
However, in northern Aleppo province, the armed forces continued to thwart terrorists’ infiltration bids into safe areas in the old city and destroyed weapons and ammunitions in more than 22 areas in the countryside.
Tailored operation
They also launched a tailored operation against terrorists’ hideouts in the old airport quarter in Der Ezzour province, killing and injuring a host of terrorists.
The terrorists, who are receiving successive knockout blows in the restive areas, continue to fire shells daily on residential areas nationwide.
Mortar attack in Damascus
Today, terrorits fired a mortar shell hitting a car in al-Malek al-Adel Street in al-Mazra’a area in the heart of the capital [Damascus].
At least one citizen was wounded and several cars were damaged at the scene, according to a police command source.
