Polyanskiy: No one can remove Russia’s right of veto

Russia’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations Dmitry Polyansky has stressed that no one can remove Russia’s right to veto in the UN Security Council, because there is no such mechanism and because this will undermine the UN principles.

“There is no such mechanism, it is necessary to undermine the foundations of the UN, in fact, to build it anew then, without Russia, Polyansky said in reply to a question on whether it is possible to deprive Russia of the right to veto.

“I can’t even imagine how this process can look like without the complete destruction of all the foundations of modern international relations, everyone understands this, ”he said on the air of Russia 1, his words are quoted by RIA Novosti.

Earlier, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the World Organization Vasily Nebenzia said that the meeting of the UN Security Council at the initiative of the United States and Albania is a new milestone in the disinformation campaign of Kiev and the West.

On the other hand, Polyansky pointed out that Russia has showed its own position on reforming the UN Security Council so that African, Asian and Latin American countries are represented in it.

He affirmed that most countries are not ready to support the West’s anti-Russia initiatives at the United Nations and that Washington’s alliance against Russia has started to collapse.
