The Russian Federal Security Service has arrested a secret cell for financing the terrorist organization ISIS on Russian soil, in the Moscow region.
Russia Today website quoted the Federal Security Service as saying in a statement today that the members of the cell, who are citizens of Russia, transferred large sums of money to ISIS, using bank cards belonging to one of the elements that finance ISIS and who is on the international wanted list for committing serious crimes, including terrorist activities.
The Federal Security Service indicated that the members of the cell were charged with aiding in the commitment of terrorist activities.
Last April, Russian security forces arrested an ISIS terrorist who was planning to carry out an act of sabotage in the Stavropol region in southern Russia.
