Ambassador Haddad: Syria suffered from the terrorist takfiri ideology which is another face of fascism
Syria’s ambassador to Russia, Dr. Riad Haddad, stressed the importance of recalling the danger of fascist ideology that is growing today, pointing out that some are trying to revive those anti-human tendencies and invoke fascist ideology under different names.
Ambassador Haddad said in his speech today before the International Anti-Fascist Forum 2022 in Moscow: There is another aspect of fascism that we have suffered a lot from in Syria, which is the terrorist takfiri ideology and the danger of extremist terrorist groups that wreaked havoc in it, killed the innocent and displaced children and the elderly from their villages and cities.
Haddad added: “With the determination of our people, the courage of our army, and the support and assistance of allies and friends in the Russian Federation, we have defeated these extremist groups which were eliminated.” It was the case in the battles of the Great Patriotic War.
Haddad explained that the attempts of the evil forces led by the United States and its Western allies to reproduce this racist ideology do not stop at these borders, but rather they continue to lie, falsify history and overturn facts in an attempt to revive the Nazi serious and racist tendencies in the heart of Europe again, by feeding and supporting extremist organizations in Ukraine and portraying the criminals who belong to it as heroes the same as they tried to show the terrorists of ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra in Syria as freedom fighters and worked to cover up all the crimes committed by the neo-Nazis against the people of Donbass.
Haddad pointed out that the Russian Federation came to the defense of the Donbass people and proved once again that the Russian people will defend their country as their brothers did before them in Syria. Hence, Syria’s position came in full support for the special military operation carried out by Russia in defense of the Donbass people and with the aim of eradicating the threat of neo-Naziism from Ukraine and the world, affirming confidence that Russia will emerge victorious in this honorable battle.
The International Anti-Fascist Forum is held annually prior to the International Day of Remembrance for the Victims of Fascism, and one of its objectives is to send a warning to the world about the existence of a real threat from the fascism that has declared itself again. It is held this year under the slogan “Remember the past and think about the future”.
Heads of veterans’ and youth organizations, universities, relevant committees of the State Duma, the Federation Council, the Russian Social Chamber, federal bodies of executive power, representatives of the authorities of the Russian regions, religious denominations, national communities and diplomatic missions accredited in Russia participate in the forum as well as speakers from a number of foreign countries.
