Russian Foreign Ministry: EU countries determined to prolong the conflict in Ukraine

Moscow (ST) – Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Andriy Rudenko, affirmed that the European Union is not considering the consequences of providing military aid to the Kiev regime. He added that Brussels is determined to prolong the conflict and endanger the security of the European content.

In a statement to RIA Novosti Agency, Rudenko indicated that in addition to the continuous supplies of weapons and military equipment to Kiev, the EU seeks to arrange the military activities of the EU countries in Ukraine under its leadership”. He added that some EU member states are training the Ukrainian armed forces, which was recently confirmed by the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell.

In this context, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister said that, the EU is doing this without thinking about the consequences, as Borrell continues to make hostile statements that have nothing to do with diplomacy, which indicates that the EU does not want to invest in peace in Ukraine and maintains a policy of prolonging the conflict. He added that a scenario is being implemented to turn Ukraine into a hotbed of constant tension and instability near the Russian border.

Rudenko stressed that as a result of the bombing, civilian infrastructure is destroyed and vital facilities, including the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, are attacked, making the security of the entire European continent under threat.
