Demonstrations in Germany demand lifting of sanctions against Russia

Cologne (ST): Hundreds of people, mostly Russian-speaking people, demonstrated in the western German city of Cologne yesterday, to demand that Berlin stop supporting the regime in Ukraine and lift the sanctions it imposed on Russia.
Reuters reported that the demonstrators raised Russian flags or banners with the name of NATO crossed out in a red line.
“Germany is in a state of disarray,” said Elena Kolbasnikova, one of the protest organizers, and stressed that Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine was protecting Russian speakers in the east of that country.
