Israeli occupation uses medical negligence as a tool to kill Palestinian prisoners

OCCUPIED AL-QUDS, Sep.4, (ST)- The Palestinian Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Commission has affirmed that the Israeli occupation authorities use deliberate medical negligence as a tool to kill prisoners by letting diseases spread in their bodies.

In a statement released on Sunday, the commission said that the prisoners’ health problems could be treated if healthcare were  provided to the prisoners in a timely manner. The occupation authorities however  deliberately ignore their health issues for long periods, during which they turn into serious and chronic diseases.

“Hundreds of prisoners are suffering from various diseases, such as cancer, heart failure, kidney failure, pressure, diabetes and others, in addition to many of them suffering from psychological and neurological ones,” the commission added.

The Commission called on international institutions to carry out their responsibilities and to compel the Israeli entity to stop its violations against prisoners.

Yesterday, the prisoner, Musa Abu Mahamid, was martyred as a result of the medical negligence policy pursued by the occupation authorities.
