A Palestinian prisoner in Israeli jails martyred due to deliberate medical negligence

A Palestinian prisoner in the Israeli occupation jails was martyred this dawn due to the deliberate medical negligence practiced by the Israeli occupation authorities.

The Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS) said in a statement reported by WAFA News Agency on Saturday that the 40-year-old Palestinian prisoner Mousa Abu Mahameed, from Beit Tamar, east of Bethlehem, died this dawn due to the policy of deliberate medical negligence practiced by the Israeli authorities towards the sick Palestinian prisoners.

Palestinian prisoners’ advocacy groups held Israel responsible for  Mahameed’s death, urging the international community and the human rights organizations to interfere as to protect the Palestinian prisoners in the occupation jails.

The PPS said that Mahameed was detained two months ago while he was on his way to occupied Al-Quds and that the physical and psychological torture he was subjected to in the Israeli detention center is another crime added to Israel’s criminal record.

Palestinian Foreign Ministry urges ICC to open immediate investigation into the murder of Abu Mahameed

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs renewed its call on the International Criminal Court (ICC) to open an immediate investigation into the crimes of the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian prisoners in Israeli detention centers, including the crime of killing the Palestinian captive Mousa Abu Mahameed due to deliberate medical negligence.

The murder of Abu Mahameed further proves that the international community continues to ignore the Israeli occupation’s crimes against the Palestinian prisoners that go without punishment or accountability, including the crime of deliberate medical negligence and the physical and psychological torture that lead to slow death inside the detention centers.
