Workers and students: Participation in local administration elections is a right and a duty

Damascus (ST): A number of workers and students affirmed that their participation in the local council elections represents a national duty to choose the most qualified and worthy candidate capable of achieving economic and social development and activating the service aspect in their areas.

News reporter monitored a number of opinions about the importance of participating in the elections for members of the local administrative boards scheduled to be held on the 18th of this September, where Samer Malas, who works in one of the Syrian Trade branches, indicated that the voter’s vote is a trust and must be presented to those who represent him effectively and to the person who is able to achieve hopes and the aspirations of citizens, indicating that the participation of young people in the elections plays a major role, whether through those who ran from them to be a member of these councils or those who participated in voting to choose the best.

The worker, Louay Deeb, believed that it is necessary to review the electoral program of the candidate before being elected so that the voter can vote for the most efficient candidate who touches the concerns of the citizens and presents a vision for solving them, considering that it is necessary to benefit from the course of the previous elections because some of those who won did not provide what was expected of them.

The employee, Heba Baalbaki, pointed out that she will elect the person worthy of responsibility and able to find solutions, especially since the difficult circumstances require the concerted efforts of all reconstruction efforts.

Based on her previous experience of voting, worker Samia Al-Rifai stressed the need to give the voice to the right person, explaining: “I participated in the local council elections in the last session, but I did not notice a difference on the ground, and the slogans raised by some at the time were not up to expectations during their work period. It is very necessary to be careful about choosing the appropriate name for the municipalities and cities and to follow up on what he achieved after his victory.”
