Syrian-Iranian talks to enhance joint industrial cooperation
On September 1st, Minister of Industry Ziad Sabbagh discussed with the head of the Iranian-Syrian Friendship Association Hassan Chakhsi and the accompanying delegation ways to enhance industrial cooperation between Syria and Iran.
Minister Sabbagh stressed the importance and necessity of joint work to rehabilitate and develop the industrial sector, which was badly damaged by the terrorist war on Syria.
For his part, Chaksi indicated the Iranian side’s interest in investing in the industrial sector in Syria and expanding cooperation frameworks in this field.
During the meeting, they discussed the possibility of cooperation and investment in the chemical, engineering, textile and cement industries, developing production lines and rehabilitating destroyed factories.
It was also agreed to identify points of connection between the two sides to develop cooperation formulas and follow-up bilateral meetings with officials in the ministry.
