172 days into Palestinian Khalil Awawdeh’s hunger strike

Occupied Al-Quds, (ST) – Despite the deterioration of his health, Palestinian prisoner Khalil Awawda continues his hunger strike for the 172nd day, stressing his determination to continue his battle against the Israeli jailer to gain his freedom.

The Palestinian Prisoners Club clarified, according to what was reported by Wafa News Agency on Wednesday, that Awawdeh’s health condition is in a lot of danger. He cannot move or talk, but he continues with the battle of empty stomach until he is freed from the Israeli occupation.

Two days ago, the prisoner’s family published a video clip in which Awadeh sent a message to all the free people of the world, in which he stressed that his rickety body, of which only bone and skin remains, reflects the barbaric reality of the occupation. He said that, our cause is just, and we will continue to defend it, and we will remain against arrest even if the lives are gone.

It is noteworthy that Awawda announced his first hunger strike on the third of last March and suspended it after 111 days on the twenty-first of June, but the violation of the occupation authorities of their pledges to release him prompted him to resume his strike on the second of last July.
