Damascus, (ST) – The Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, Dr. Muhammad Samer Al-Khalil, discussed with the Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of South Africa Candith Machigo Dlamini means of enhancing bilateral relations of common interest.
During the meeting, which was held at the Ministry of Economy building in Damascus on Wednesday, Minister Al-Khalil stressed the importance of activating and developing economic relations between the two countries. “This activating will happen through signing a framework agreement for trade and economic cooperation and holding meetings to discuss the foundations for developing cooperation in various fields, including trade and investment”, he added.
Minister Al-Khalil referred to the mechanisms of increasing the volume of intra-trade in an integrated manner by benefiting from the diversity of products in the two countries.
For her part, Dlamini stressed the importance of the historical relations linking the two countries and the fields of joint cooperation, whether in the economic field or in the sectors of renewable energies, agriculture, education, tourism and culture.
