Yemeni Shura Council: Israeli attacks on Syria are part of direct support for terrorist organizations

SANA’A , (ST) – The Yemeni Shura Council strongly condemned the Israeli attack that targeted checkpoints in the governorates of Damascus and Tartous countryside.

In today Tuesday’s statement, the Council considered this blatant attack a serious threat to regional and international peace and security. “It is undermining peace in the region, and an extension of the US-backed Israeli aggression that affects Yemen and the occupied Palestinian territories”, the statement said.

The statement explained that these Zionist attacks come within the framework of direct support for armed terrorist organizations in Syria and to facilitate their movements and criminal acts against the Syrian people. It stressed the right of sisterly Syria to defend its security, stability, sovereignty and independence of its territory by various means guaranteed by law and international covenants.

The statement called on similar councils in Africa and the Arab world and the free people of the world to condemn and denounce this dangerous criminal act that threatens peace and security in the region.
