The People’s Assembly, the cabinet congratulate journalists on the Syrian press day

Damascus (ST) –  People’s Assembly Speaker Hammouda Sabbagh congratulated the Union of Syrian Journalists and workers in the media sector on the occasion of the Syrian Press Day, which falls today.
In a statement, Sabbagh expressed his confidence in the leading national role of the national press, including its media, and educational role in its various institutions, types and forms, and the insistence of workers in this important sector on the continuous follow-up to the development of journalistic work as one of the pillars of the process of revival and reconstruction of a new, renewable Syria.

In the same context, the cabinet congratulated the Union of Syrian Journalists and workers in the media sector on the occasion of the Syrian Press Day, which falls today.

In a statement, the cabinet said that, “we are proud of the steadfastness of the media institution and its adherence to its identity, and true national affiliation. We recall with more honor and appreciation examples of this loyalty from the martyrs of the national media who gave their lives in order to defend their principles and their national and moral message.”

The cabinet stressed in its statement t that, the journalists have the right to get the information, and it is imperative that all ministries, institutions and public authorities enable journalists to obtain it easily in order to inform public opinion about the work of state institutions.

The cabinet concluded its statement by saluting and appreciating the national media and its cadres, who have proven that they are the owners of the sincere word and the right stance. They sacrifice dearly like other Syrian Arab people, in order to defend the homeland, its sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity and independent national decision.
