Moscow, (ST) – Russian air defenses deployed in Zaporozhye, south-central Ukraine, repelled a missile attack by Kiev forces on the liberated city of Melitopol.
Vladimir Rogov, a member of the Zaporozhye Civil-Military Administration, said on Rossiya 24 channel that, Russian defenses shot down several missiles targeting Melitopol.
Rogov spoke about the increasing risks to the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant and added that, “at the moment, one of the plant’s reactors has been disconnected from the power grid and the power of a second reactor has been reduced to a minimum.” Our mission is to preserve the plant before generating electricity from it.
It should be noted that the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant under the control of the Russian army is the largest in Europe, with 6 reactors operating, and it supplied Ukraine with twenty percent of the total electric power.
