The historic victory achieved by the Lebanese national resistance after the July 2006 Israeli aggression on Lebanon is still fresh in the memory of the Lebanese people, in particular, and the Arabs in general.
After 33 days of fighting and steadfastness, the Lebanese resistance managed to foil a barbaric Israeli aggression on Lebanon, launched on July 12, 2006 and lasted until August 13. The resistance managed to inflict heavy losses upon the Israeli enemy, preventing it from achieving its goal, despite its advanced weapons and tanks which shelled the Lebanese villages, towns and cities, targeting residential neighborhoods, schools, hospitals, factories, bridges and all infrastructure facilities and terrorizing the citizens.
August 13, 2006 was the last day of the Israeli aggression. A day after, a ceasefire was declared and the Security Council Resolution No. 1701, which provides for halting the Israeli attacks on the Lebanese territories, was implemented, announcing the defeat of the Israeli enemy and the achievement of a strategic military victory for the Lebanese resistance.
The victory of the Lebanese resistance in August, 2006, has been a shining page in the history of the Lebanese resistance against the Israeli enemy that changed the balance of power in the region.
The anniversary of the Lebanese resistance victory coincides this year with the victory of the Palestinian resistance over the Israeli enemy after last week’s Israeli brutal aggression on Gaza.
