The Russian army shot down five Ukrainian drones and two missiles from the American-made launcher

Moscow (ST): During the past 24 hours, Russian forces destroyed hundreds of Ukrainian military targets, including command centers and weapons depots, and shot down five drones and two US-made (HIMARS) missiles.

Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov said in a media briefing today that the joint forces of the Russian army and the Donetsk People’s Forces incurred, during their offensive operations in the Soledar region, the 14th Ukrainian Mechanized Brigade, losses exceeding two thousand personnel, while the rest of them withdrew to the rear lines.

Konashenkov explained that the high-precision strikes by the Russian Air Force in the towns of Obtnoy and Nevelskoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic led to losses of more than 70 percent of the number of the 56th mechanized infantry brigade of the Ukrainian forces, and the elements of the 23rd brigade left their combat positions without permission and left for the rear lines.
