“My country, history and civilization”… An initiative to introduce Daraa’s youth to the archeology of their governorate

The initiative titled: “My Country, History and Civilization” aims to introduce young people from Daraa Governorate to the archaeological monuments existing in the governorate and its successive civilizations.
The initiative was launched by the Association of Martyr Amin Al-Najjar for the Revolutionary Youth Union branch in Daraa, during which documentaries of important historical sites in the province were shown, and some sites were visited on the ground, accompanied by experts and historians.
The coordinator of the initiative, Dia Al-Din Al-Saeed, said  that this initiative came after the years of the terrorist war on Syria, which prevented young people from visiting many archaeological and tourist places and thus did not recognize their historical value, pointing out that the youth started the initiative by visiting the city of Izra to see the two churches of Al-Khidr and Mar Elias and the Omari Mosque as well as the archaeological market in Izra al-Balad.
