The Syrian-DPRK Joint Technical Committee Looks forward to the rehabilitation of engineering industries companies

The Syrian-Korean Joint Technical Committee for Joint Industrial Cooperation discussed during a meeting held at the Ministry of Industry the possibility of benefiting from the technical expertise of the Democratic Republic of Korea in rehabilitating production lines and machines of the General Organization for Engineering Industries companies affected by the terrorist war and the systematic destruction of the industrial sector.
During its meeting, chaired by Minister of Industry Ziad Sabbagh and Chargé d’Affaires at the Embassy of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea in Damascus, Kim Hae-Ryong, the committee discussed the current status of the companies of the General Organization for Engineering Industries offered for investment. It was agreed to draw a road map for joint cooperation between the two countries, and to review on the ground the technical and legal status of companies and to probe their needs of machines, equipment and production lines in order to restart them productively.
The meeting of the committee was attended on the Syrian side by Deputy Minister of Industry Ayman Khoury, Director of the General Establishment for Engineering Industries Abdullah al-Nama, Technical and Production Director Muhannad Jarkas and the concerned directors of the Engineering Corporation, and for the Korean side, the political and economic advisor at the embassy Choi Chang Ho and Wadah Kayal, director of the Syrian-Korean Technologies Company.
The Minister of Industry and the Chargé d’Affaires agreed during their meeting on the second of this month to form this committee to set the initial principles for the fields of joint industrial cooperation, follow up cooperation and coordination and activate the memoranda of understanding signed between the two sides.
