The Palestinian Prisoner Club warned that the Palestinian prisoner Khalil Awawda, who is on hunger strike in protest against the crimes of the Israeli occupation against the prisoners, is in a very critical health condition and could be martyred at any moment.
Palestinian media quoted Qaddoura Fares, director of the Prisoners Club, as saying in today’s statements that Awawda, who continues his second strike for the 41st day, is experiencing serious health conditions that may cost his life. He suffers from confusion in the eyes and the inability to focus or move, calling on the international institutions concerned with the affairs of prisoners to take urgent action to release him.
For its part, the Wa’ed Prisoners Association clarified that the occupation continues to detain Awawda in Ramleh detention center and hides real information about his health condition. The occupation also continues his obstinacy and refrains from transferring him to a hospital in the West Bank, despite the great danger to his life
Awawda had announced his first hunger strike on the third of last March and suspended it after 111 days on the twenty-first of June, after pledges from the occupation authorities to release him, but they reneged on their pledges, which prompted him to resume his strike on the 2nd of last July.
